Driven by the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University's commitment to supporting and empowering people with disabilities and transforming innovative ideas into practical solutions that serve the community, the "Student What?" program on NRJ 92.1 radio hosted student Mohamed Metwally Abdel Hamid Awad to discuss his participation in the presidential initiative "Tamkeen" and to present his project, "iVision."
This event was held under the auspices of Professor Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abdeen, President of Ain Shams University, Professor Dr. Rami Maher Ghaly, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Rasha Mohamed Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information.
During the interview, the student presented the project's development, which aims to assist visually impaired individuals through a smart application that grants them greater independence in using their mobile phones at the lowest possible cost, relying on artificial intelligence technologies.
The student also expressed his appreciation to his colleagues who participated in implementing the project, the supervisory team, and the faculty and university administration, praising their continuous support which contributed to developing the idea and bringing it to this advanced level. He concluded by saying, "iVision isn't just a graduation project; it's a commitment to building an inclusive future where no one is left behind."
This participation came with the support and nomination of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Innovators and Talents Fund (ISF), as part of its efforts to support creative students and empower them to develop projects with a real societal impact.
It's worth noting that the Faculty of Computers and Information participated with two innovative projects aimed at empowering people with disabilities using the latest artificial intelligence technologies. These projects were presented during the closing ceremony of the second edition of the presidential initiative "Tamkeen" (Empowerment), held at Luxor Temple under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. The two projects were selected and nominated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
