In support of innovation and to strengthen the link between academic knowledge, practical application, and industry needs in strategic sectors, the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University participated with the project:
*FCIS Cab Smart AI*
An intelligent solution for predicting demand in the cable and metal industries.
The project successfully qualified among the top five teams in the final round of the Arab Cable Manufacturers Association (ARABCAB) competition, out of 44 teams from Egypt, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. This took place during the 20th conference held in Cairo from February 4-6, 2026, sponsored by Elsewedy Electric.
The project was supervised by:
Professor Dr. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Ain Shams University
and the following faculty members:
Dr. Mona Abdel-Azim, Lecturer of Information Systems, Faculty of Computers and Information
Dr. Mayvel Nabil, Lecturer, Faculty of Commerce
And under the guidance and supervision of Ms. Radwa El-Husseini, Team Leader

Ahmed Darwish and Fatima El-Wasefy (Teaching Assistants, Computer Systems Department)
And the students: Omar Salama, fourth year, Artificial Intelligence Department, and Ali Ahmed Shawky, fourth year, Software Engineering Department.
The project focuses on transforming historical demand data into data-driven operational decisions through:
High-precision forecasting models
Six-month demand forecasts
Smart inventory management recommendations
Risk classification to enhance supply chain resilience
An interactive dashboard (Smart Dashboard) that provides real-time visibility into inventory status and future purchasing requirements
This achievement reflects the university's role in supporting applied innovation and preparing qualified professionals capable of providing real, smart solutions for industry and the job market.
