Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty, students from the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University achieved a distinguished accomplishment in the field of cybersecurity after topping the Claw The Flag – Cybears (CTF) competition, which specializes in cybersecurity. They secured first and second place across Africa, outperforming teams from various African countries.
The team L0ck8y7e won first place in Africa after demonstrating strong performance in solving advanced technical challenges related to vulnerability discovery and securing digital systems. The team included Omar Mohamed Hassan Ahmed, a third-year student in the Information Systems department at the Faculty of Computers and Information – Ain Shams University.
The team Gen Z also achieved second place across the African continent in the same competition. The team included Khaled Ahmed El-Sayed Lotfy, a fourth-year student in the Cybersecurity department at the Faculty of Computers and Information – Ain Shams University.
The Claw The Flag – Cybears (CTF) competition is considered one of the advanced competitions in the field of cybersecurity. It is based on simulating real-world scenarios for discovering security vulnerabilities, analyzing them, and securing digital systems, and it typically features strong competition among teams from different countries.
This achievement reflects the distinguished level of students at the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University in cybersecurity and advanced technologies, as well as their ability to compete regionally and internationally.
