As part of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University’s commitment to keeping pace with the latest developments in artificial intelligence, the faculty organized a distinguished seminar titled: “Agentic AI: From Thinking Systems to Acting Systems.”
The seminar was held in collaboration with Technovilla Egypt, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Sherine Radi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and coordinated by Dr. Yasmin Farouk, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at Technovilla Egypt.
The seminar was delivered by Eng. Taqi El-Din Idris, an expert in the field, who discussed the latest trends in Agentic AI, highlighting the shift from traditional conversation-based systems to systems capable of executing tasks autonomously and independently.
The session reviewed the evolution of AI technologies, starting from simple chatbots to multi-agent systems, with a focus on model context protocols as one of the most prominent modern tools for integrating systems and organizing their operations efficiently.
The seminar concluded with a live demonstration of how intelligent systems operate, giving attendees the opportunity to explore practical applications of these technologies. The event was well attended by faculty members, teaching assistants, and students, followed by a rich interactive discussion session addressing participants’ questions.
This seminar comes as part of the faculty’s efforts to raise awareness of modern AI technologies and to provide students and faculty members with exposure to the latest advanced applications, thereby enhancing their academic and research capabilities and keeping up with the evolving demands of the job market.
