Generative Artificial Intelligence at Ain Shams Computers: From Usage to Localization

As part of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting scientific research and promoting the adoption of the latest digital technologies, the faculty organized a distinguished scientific seminar titled: “Generative Artificial Intelligence: From Usage to Localization,” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty.

The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Taimour Nazmy, Professor of Computer Science at the faculty, who addressed the latest trends in the field of Generative AI, highlighting its growing importance in supporting digital transformation, fostering innovation, and developing smart solutions across various sectors.

The seminar also presented an integrated strategic vision for localizing generative AI technologies within the faculty and the university, through a gradual transition from the stage of usage to practical application and implementation, ultimately reaching the stage of owning and developing proprietary Large Language Models (LLMs) for the university.

The session emphasized the pivotal role of the Faculty of Computers and Information in leading this transformation within Ain Shams University, contributing to the development of an advanced educational, research, and administrative ecosystem driven by innovation and digital knowledge.

This seminar comes as part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to support innovative ideas and prepare qualified professionals capable of keeping pace with global advancements in artificial intelligence.
