In a national celebration reflecting the Egyptian state’s pride in its talented and innovative young minds, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi honored a group of Ain Shams University students who brought international recognition to Egypt by securing first place globally in two of the world’s leading international technology competitions. The recognition took place during the closing ceremony of Egypt Forum 2026.
This prestigious presidential recognition celebrates the exceptional scientific and technological achievements of the University’s students in artificial intelligence and cloud computing. It underscores that investing in Egyptian talent is the cornerstone of building the New Republic and demonstrates that Egypt’s youth possess the knowledge, creativity, and innovative capabilities needed to lead the future and compete in the world’s most advanced technological fields.
The recognition included two teams from Ain Shams University that successfully claimed first place globally against competitors from countries around the world.
First: ASU Racing Team – Faculty of Engineering
The team secured first place globally in the Artificial Intelligence category, specifically the AI Driverless track, at the Formula Student competition held in England. This remarkable achievement reflects the significant progress made by Ain Shams University students in artificial intelligence applications, smart engineering, and autonomous vehicle technologies.
The team was represented at the presidential recognition ceremony by students Hisham El-Sabbagh, Karim Khaled, and Ali Radwan.
Second: Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences Team – Ain Shams University
The team won first place globally in cloud computing at the Huawei ICT Competition held in China, demonstrating the ability of talented young Egyptians to excel in one of the most critical fields underpinning the technological infrastructure of the global digital economy.
The team was represented at the presidential recognition ceremony by students Abdel Rahman Abdel Nasser and Abdel Rahman El-Bahrawy.
Commenting on this occasion, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, expressed his immense pride in this presidential recognition, emphasizing that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s honoring of the University’s students represents a badge of honor for the entire University and a powerful message of appreciation and confidence in the capabilities and creative potential of Egyptian youth.
