As part of the 12th edition of the International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Information Systems (ICICIS 2025), organized by the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, the conference hosted the meeting of the Computers and Informatics Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, held alongside the conference proceedings.
ICICIS 2025 was convened at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University, under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research. The conference was chaired by Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences and Conference Chair.
Spanning two days, the conference provided a platform for high-level academic engagement and hosted, on its sidelines, the meeting of the Computers and Informatics Sector Committee. The meeting was attended by Prof. Mohamed Essam Khalifa, Head of the Computer Science and Informatics Sector at the Supreme Council of Universities; Prof. Hala Zayed, Secretary of the Sector Committee; in addition to a distinguished gathering of deans of Faculties of Computer and Information Sciences from Egyptian public and private universities.
During the conference’s opening session, Prof. Rasha Ismail extended a warm welcome to the members of the Sector Committee, underscoring the committee’s strategic role in shaping the future of education and scientific research in the fields of computing and informatics, enhancing academic program quality, and ensuring alignment with rapidly advancing technological trends.
At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, Prof. Rasha Ismail honored several prominent academic figures, including Prof. Mohamed Essam Khalifa and Prof. Hala Zayed, in recognition of their distinguished efforts and substantial contributions to advancing the computing and informatics sector in Egypt.
