The Council of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University discusses the development of academic programs and the enhancement of institutional excellence.

The Council of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University began its meeting by honoring Professor Dr. Hala Moshir in recognition of her outstanding efforts during her tenure as Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. The council also extended congratulations to her on her appointment as Dean of the Faculty of Computers at Zewail University, wishing her continued success.

The council also discussed the necessary executive measures to rationalize energy consumption within the faculty, as part of its orientation toward optimal resource utilization and improving operational efficiency. In addition, it reviewed the readiness plan for distance learning if needed, ensuring the continuity of the educational process with efficiency.

The council addressed the development of academic programs at the faculty, with a focus on updating scientific content and keeping pace with global developments and labor market requirements. Development across various academic programs was discussed in coordination with the scientific departments, in line with the recommendations of Ain Shams University Council and the Supreme Council of Universities to modernize educational programs in accordance with local, regional, and international labor market needs.

In this context, the council reviewed the results of surveys conducted to support the development process. These included proposals from departmental scientific councils, faculty members, teaching assistants, and students, aiming to reach an integrated vision that enhances program quality and learning outcomes.

The council also discussed ways to support the faculty’s international ranking by promoting scientific publishing, expanding international research collaboration, and linking research outputs with industry to enhance the faculty’s global competitiveness.

The meeting emphasized the important role of the Academic Advising Unit and the Quality Unit, highlighting their regular meetings with students to support academic excellence and improve the educational environment. It also discussed the creation of an electronic textbook for courses to facilitate students’ access to academic content.

Furthermore, the council reviewed the activities carried out by the faculty across various sectors, emphasizing the importance of participation in the university’s community observatory due to its positive impact in identifying societal issues and contributing to their resolution.

As part of strengthening communication with graduates, the council discussed completing graduate follow-up surveys to identify employment opportunities and mechanisms to enhance their participation in faculty activities. It also directed students to complete the Egyptian Student Engagement Survey 2025–2026, launched by the Supreme Council of Universities, aimed at developing the educational process and improving the level of student services.

Finally, the council discussed the agenda for the month of March as part of monitoring the implementation of the faculty’s various academic and administrative plans.
