The Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University has achieved a new international milestone by winning the Grand Prize and Gold Medal at the global finals of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 Global Finals, hosted in Shenzhen, China. The competition is one of the largest and most prestigious international events specializing in information and communications technology (ICT).

This remarkable achievement came after the university’s students won two Grand Prize awards, the highest distinction granted by the competition, outperforming teams from countries around the world. The accomplishment reflects the advanced academic and technical capabilities of the faculty’s students and their ability to compete and excel on the international stage.

In the Cloud Track, Abdelrahman Adel El-Bahrawy, a 2025 graduate of the Information Systems Program at the Faculty of Computers and Information, was part of the team that secured the Grand Prize. Meanwhile, Karim Gamal, a 2021 graduate of the Faculty of Science, won the Grand Prize in the Computing Track, further highlighting the university’s leadership in technology and digital transformation.

This victory extends the Faculty of Computers and Information’s series of successes in Huawei’s international competitions. Students from the faculty had previously won first place worldwide in the Cloud Track during the 2024–2025 edition of the competition, demonstrating sustained excellence and continuous progress in preparing highly qualified students in cutting-edge technological fields.

Professor Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University, stated that this achievement reflects the outstanding caliber of the faculty’s students and their ability to compete globally in advanced technology fields. She noted that winning the Grand Prize is the result of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to develop students’ skills and capabilities.

She added that this success is also a testament to the role played by the Huawei ICT Academy at the faculty, which is managed by Dr. Mona Abdel Azim, Director of the Academy. The academy contributes to preparing and training students for participation in local and international competitions while also offering specialized training programs and internationally recognized professional certifications in networking, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

Professor Ismail further emphasized that the faculty remains committed to supporting talented and innovative students and providing an educational and training environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
