College students participated in the competitions held during the 26th edition of the Cairo ICT exhibition, which took place from November 27th to November 30th, 2022, under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education.
The team of students (Wasef Mohamed El-Baz - 3rd year - Cybersecurity Program, Omar Hisham El-Shabaky - 3rd year - Main Stream, Omar Sherif - 3rd year - Main Stream) won the cybersecurity competition. In the electronic game design competition, students (Mohamed Essam El-Din Fahmy, Amr Khaled Abu Bakr, George Medhat) won first place with their game Night Fight, while students (Momen Sherif Sadik, Mahab Ashraf Kamal, Mina Milad Masoud, Mark Maher Nashey, Marco Sami, Tasneem Bahaa El-Din, Ahmed Magdi) won second place with their game Sonic Mania, and students (Ahmed Ashraf Refai, Saad Mahmoud El-Azzazy, Sameh Khalil Ibrahim, Saif Salah) won second place repeated with their game The Lost Shade.
Graduate students who have obtained a master's or doctoral degree also participated in the Digital Transformation Theses Competition to select the best thesis in the field of digital transformation. The competition included 30 researchers from different universities, and researcher Mohamed Sayed Ramadan won first place for his research entitled "An Automated Learning Approach for Validating Cancer Drug Discovery Analyses in the Lab and Predictive Analyses in Cancer Drug Discovery" with a prize of 35,000 Egyptian pounds. Researcher Radwa Reda Hussaini won third place for her research entitled "Development of a Powerful System for Electrocardiogram Planning" with a prize of 15,000 Egyptian pounds, and researcher Eman Mahmoud Abu Al-Ala Mohamed won an honorary award for her research entitled "Developing a Method for Mining Opinions on Internet Comments."
It is worth mentioning that the Cairo International Technology Conference and Exhibition (Cairo ICT) has been held since 1996 and has had the honor of being sponsored by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the past seven years. It is one of the most prominent technology events in the Middle East and Africa since its launch.
