The Council of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences Discusses Strategies for Developing Various Sectors

Within the framework of implementing the strategic plan of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University, the Faculty Council discussed strategies for developing the various sectors in a manner that enhances institutional performance efficiency and elevates the quality of the educational and research processes.

This came during the Faculty Council meeting chaired by Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty, during which several key issues related to the development of the education sector, scientific research and innovation, and community service and environmental development were addressed.

The discussions included the development of academic bylaws in line with labor market requirements, industry needs, and digital transformation, as well as expanding interdisciplinary programs and modern specializations. The Council also reviewed the development of the question bank system and electronic examinations in accordance with contemporary quality assurance and assessment standards.

The Council further discussed ways to link scientific research with priority applied fields of national importance, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals. Emphasis was placed on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship by encouraging researchers and innovators to transform their research outputs into patents, products, and services that serve both society and industry.

The meeting also addressed the development of special-purpose units to function as an integrated digital hub for providing consultancy and research services and software development, in support of digital transformation efforts and the optimal utilization of the faculty’s academic expertise.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council reviewed preparations for the first semester examinations of the 2025–2026 academic year, ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination process and the provision of an appropriate environment for students.

These efforts reflect the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences’ commitment to keeping pace with rapid advancements in the fields of computing and information technology, strengthening its academic and societal role, supporting Egypt’s vision for digital transformation and a knowledge-based economy, and reinforcing the university’s contribution to achieving comprehensive and sustainable development in line with accelerating technological progress.
