As part of the Faculty of Computers and Information’s commitment at Ain Shams University to supporting digital innovation and developing students’ skills in modern technology and artificial intelligence, the faculty participated in the activities of the global company Microsoft hosted by Ain Shams University on campus.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Ramy Maher, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. It was attended by Eng. Amr El-Masry, Director of the Education Sector at Microsoft North Africa, along with Microsoft’s strategic partner Noventiq for digital solutions.
The event also witnessed distinguished participation from faculty members and students of the Faculty of Computers and Information under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty. The event provided an opportunity to explore the latest smart solutions and technological applications offered by Microsoft, most notably Microsoft Copilot, which is integrated into the university email system. This allows students to benefit from various artificial intelligence capabilities without additional fees, while also opening new opportunities for them to obtain internationally recognized certifications in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Students from the faculty also participated in the Copilot Challenge, a competition launched by Microsoft to encourage students to use artificial intelligence tools to address real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions.
The competition resulted in outstanding success for the Faculty of Computers and Information students, who secured the top three positions among all participants, with the results as follows:
🥇 First Place: Jannah Mohamed Abdullah
🥈 Second Place: Ahmed Amr Mohamed Anwar
🥉 Third Place: Ziad Badawy Abu Ouf
The winning students received free vouchers provided by Microsoft to take internationally accredited certification exams in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
This participation comes within the framework of the faculty’s strategy to link academic study with practical application and to enhance students’ readiness for the digital job market by collaborating with major global companies and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event is also part of the partnership between the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Microsoft, which enables students and faculty members to benefit from the company’s various services through the university email system, thereby supporting digital transformation efforts within educational institutions. 🚀
